An independent store shows at least 25 ratings averaging 4.3 or higher, none below 4.0. In our score this is 2 of 2 points. How we score
Praise that comes up again
- open-top tray — cats prefer it over drum designs (thecatsite, Amazon via cats.com)
- spacious for large cats
- works without app
- odor better than scooping with 4 foster cats
Praise
“all four foster cats adjusted to it immediately … With four cats using it, I need to empty the receptacle about once a week”
Complaint
“After about a year the motor to open the collection box stopped working, but I am able to use it with the lid propped open”
Praise
“Once I got the Popur they stopped using the Litter Robot. I think they prefer the Popur because it has an open top.”
Complaint
“App is very buggy, rarely stays connected and info seems to be incorrect most the time.”
Complaint
“I do not recommend this box if you have a handicap or older arthritic cat. It's too high for them to enter and exit.”
Complaint
“everyone likes to pee in one corner, so the way it empties, the clumps all end up in one corner, so it will jam eventually”
Quotes are word for word from the linked pages, and we pick praise and complaints alike. Reviews on the brand's own site and reviews written for a free product are not counted. Store ratings change over time; the date shows when we checked.
